The Sretensky Monastery publishing house has published a book by Archbishop Theofan of Korea

The Orthodox book publishing house of the Sretensky Monastery has published a book by the Archbishop of Korea Feofan, “The Russian Spiritual Mission in Korea.” The book is dedicated to the history of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Korea, which was the youngest in terms of its foundation compared to other well-known missions opened earlier in the Near and Far East, and existed from 1897, when the decree of the Holy Synod on the establishment of a mission in Korea was issued, until 1949, when the last Russian head of the mission was forced to leave Korea. The author examines the main stages of the activities of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Korea, which took place against the backdrop of a number of major historical events that took place both in Russia and Korea, which in one way or another influenced the life of the mission. The book will be of interest to those interested in the history of missionary work, as well as researchers of the history of Russian-Korean relations.

A few months ago, a Korean-language edition of the same book was published in the Republic of Korea.

You can buy the book in the Sretenie store at the Sretensky Monastery in Moscow, as well as in the Sretenie online Orthodox book store at:
