Service on the day of the celebration of the memory of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous

December 25, 2024, on the day of the memory of Saint Spyridon, Bishop of Trimythous, after the Divine Liturgy, served by Hieromonk Paul (Choi) and co-served with Hierodeacon Nektarios (Lima) and Hierodeacon Savva (Glazyrin), His Eminence Archbishop Theofan of Korea performed a prayer service to Saint Spyridon before his icon and shoe, delivered with the blessing of Metropolitan Nektarios of Kerkyra to Korea from the island of Corfu, where the relics of the holy saint of God are kept.

After the service, the Archbishop gave a sermon in which he spoke about the breadth of veneration of the saint throughout the Orthodox world, and then, as a blessing, he distributed to those who came to the service pieces of cloth from the shoe of Saint Spyridon.

On the same day, the archpastor, co-served by Hieromonk Pavel (Choi), led the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Four adults and one child, after a period of catechumenate, which included studying the basics of the Orthodox faith and participating in services, were granted the grace of Holy Baptism. One of those baptized was a local resident, a citizen of the Republic of Korea.
