“With fear I stand before Thee as a servant of the Lady, with apprehension, O Maiden, I now look upon Thee with shame, for like rain upon a fleece, the Word of the Father will descend upon Thee, as He pleased”
On April 7, 2025, on the Feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Lady of our Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Eminence Archbishop Theofan of Korea served Vespers with the Divine Liturgy of John Chrysostom in the Resurrection Parish of Seoul.
The bright Feast of the Annunciation is one of the few holidays that allow the full Liturgy to be served on weekdays during Great Lent. This is a day of universal rejoicing, because it is from the words “Rejoice, O Blessed One” (Luke 1:28) that a whole series of good news is revealed for all of humanity, the very first of which was the prophecy of the coming birth of the God-Child from Mary.
The day before, on April 6, the archpastor served the All-Night Vigil in honor of the feast.
Hieromonk Paul (Choi) and Hierodeacon Nectarios (Lim) co-served with His Eminence.
After the Liturgy, the archpastor preached.
