
On May 24, 2025, on the day of remembrance of Saints Cyril and Methodius, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ served the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This day also marks the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture and the name day of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
His Holiness was co-served by many hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, including Archbishop Theofan of Korea, administrator of the Kyzyl Diocese. Representatives of other Local Orthodox Churches, representative offices of the Alaskan Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America, clergy, monastics and political leaders of the world took part in the service.
During the liturgy, prayers were offered for Holy Rus’ and for the health of the namesake His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. After the service, a glorification of Saints Cyril and Methodius was sung, and the Patriarch addressed the congregation with a Primate’s word. The Primate presented the Altar Gospel as a gift to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The service was broadcast live on the “Союз” and “Спас” channels and on the Patriarchia.ru website.
