From June 6 to June 9, 2025, with the blessing of Metropolitan Pavel of Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai and Archbishop Feofan of Korea, a delegation of the Vladivostok Diocese headed by Priest Andrei Kalchev visited the city of Pyongyang. This visit was the first after a long break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The central event of the trip was the solemn divine service held on June 8, the day of Pentecost (the patronal feast day of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Pyongyang). The Divine Liturgy and Great Vespers with the reading of kneeling prayers were led by Priest Andrei Kalchev, co-served by Priest Vladimir Jang and Deacon Pavel Park.
The service was attended by employees of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the DPRK, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Alexander Matsegora, as well as representatives of other Russian organizations accredited in Pyongyang.
After the service, the delegation visited the Soviet Memorial Cemetery in the Sadong district, where a memorial service was held.
