On May 9, 2026, Saturday of the Fourth Week after Easter, the feast day of the Holy Hieromartyr Basil, Bishop of Amasia, His Eminence Theofan, Archbishop of Korea, served the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross in Gwangju.

Following the Liturgy, a memorial service was held for the departed soldiers who gave their lives for the faith, Fatherland, and people, and for all those who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

At the conclusion of the service, His Eminence Theofan addressed the congregation with an archpastoral sermon.
