On May 28, 2026, His Eminence Theofan, Archbishop of Korea, who was on a short visit to Japan, visited the Resurrection Cathedral in Tokyo, where he met with Metropolitan Seraphim of Tokyo and All Japan, Primate of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church.

During the meeting, His Eminence Theofan spoke to Metropolitan Seraphim about the life of the Korean Diocese of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia, congratulated him on his recent 75th anniversary, and presented him with a set of archpastor liturgical equipment. In return, Metropolitan Seraphim presented Archbishop Feofan with a commemorative panagia and then gave him a tour of the Resurrection Cathedral.

The hierarchs discussed issues of interdiocesan cooperation and agreed to establish mutual contacts.

Hieromonk Nikolai (Ono), a cleric of the Resurrection Cathedral in Tokyo, also participated in the meeting.
